Clean the affected area. Spray the wound or sore evenly with Oleavicin First Aid & Bug Bite Spray and allow 3 minutes to dry. Do not rub the affected area. For best results, cover the wound or sore with a bandage after applying the Oleavicin Spray. Be sure to wash hands before and after application.
The product is hard to find in retail stores. Also: any product containing allantoin is very difficult to find (read about Allantoin in Wikipedia). There is nothing controversial about allantoin and it was in another generic first aid cream.Insect bites, etc. -- various reviewers have said various things. I missed the opportunity to try it on what I suspect was a spider bite. (Got Oleavicin spray only well after that.) But I CAN comment on what it IS superb for: MINOR CUTS.I get many packages and depending how packaged, my "box cutter" might need a good bit of force. I cut away from me, yet somehow, I end up with a cut I didn't notice until later. It is an itchy annoying thing like a paper cut. Spraying with Oleavicin and instantly zero itchy annoyance goes away.Perhaps more importantly ALLANTOIN PROMOTES HEALING.The product package says it is not anti-biotic. But the product contains TEA TREE leaf extract. Tea Tree (Melaleuca) oil is known to be ANTI-FUNGAL (it's in nail-fungus treatment products), and ANTI-BACTERIAL/Why not 5 stars on the rating? These reasons:1. package claims it is NOT anti-biotic; perhaps that's true despite the Tea Tree extract in the product2. the pump for the spray cannot be pushed a little; so you get BIG SPRAY OUT, whether you want that or not3. due to (2) (big spray out as only choice) you will use up the product quickly4. very serious wounds: no probably don't use this product for very serious wounds, but if you know what kind of thing you are buying you already understand that, so this point (4) is not really a demerit5. The package gives NO MANUFACTURER INFO: NO NAME of "who" made the stuff, NO ADDRESS for "who" made the stuff. That is totally bizarre and inexplicable. And, no, there is not that code number (NDC number) given on many over-the-counter pharmacy stuff (in very small numerals after 'NDC'). That too is absent. But NO MANUFACTURER INFO at all is baffling.HAPPILY, there IS an expiration date. Easily Readable too. It's a sticker with big font. For it's purpose, a superb performer (although I cannot testify re. bug bits, only minor cuts.) But remember that ALLANTOIN aids healing and so few products exist with Allantoin, like this product has. It's the first-listed ingredient in fact.
Love this product. Great natural product for mosquito bite relief
Mosquitos seem to make a meal out of me every time I walk outside, so in addition to spraying repellent all over me, I try to keep some kind of bug bite relief on me. This one works pretty well. It stops the itch quickly and it doesn't sting or feel sticky. The scent isn't terrible, so that's a plus. It is a very small container, which is the only drawback I can find. Other than that, I'm happy with it.
This product has worked well for us. We got this to take us when we go hiking or camping in hopes it would be easy to carry with us and work well for our kids. I really like that this is compact and easy to use. Between us and the kids I feel like we got about 1,000 bug bites this summer. We have used this product a lot and each time it worked well and it worked fast. The only negatives that I can think of it that it is small and the spray isn't the best. But overall it helped us stop itching which is what we wanted.
I like this first aid bug bite relief because it actually does work. The only issue I have is that the bottle does not contain very many sprays, but I like that it is compact and can be carried easily.
